Epithelial ovarian cancer
Ovarian cancer is cancer that starts in the ovaries. The ovaries are the female reproductive organs that produce eggs.
Epithelial ovarian cancer is the second most frequent neoplasia of the female genital apparatus, following endometrial cancer. However, it is the principal cause of mortality by gynecologic cancer. It is most frequent in post-menopausal women, with the highest incidence between 50 – 70 years of age.
