Information evolution

At tellmeGen, we periodically update the information we provide to you, so that your results incorporate advances in genetics. In Starter and Advanced, updates are free for life and include DNA Connect. Some novelties may require data that your analysis does not contain, for example variants that the chip does not measure; in that case we will not be able to apply them to your results. Our team of doctors, geneticists, and nutritionists continuously reviews scientific literature and, as new studies are published, we develop new reports and functions that are incorporated into your account.

In Ultra, updates are made through the tellmeGen+ subscription: the first 3 months are free and, afterwards, it costs €29.99/USD per year. The reason is the cost of maintaining your complete genome: each analysis generates up to 90 GB of data, and conserving and reprocessing it with each update requires great computing power. With tellmeGen+ you receive new reports and features as we incorporate them; among them, we plan to add the interpretation of other types of variants that your sequencing already contains, such as copy number variants.

Genetics is a constantly evolving science: every week studies are published that describe new gene functions and new variants associated with traits and conditions. That's why it's important that your results stay up-to-date. When there are new developments on your profile, we'll let you know when you access the platform: these can be improvements in your ancestry or new pharmacogenetics or health condition reports. If you see something you don't remember, it's because we've added it recently. Sometimes, when the scientific evidence a report is based on changes, we have to modify it or even withdraw it. We try to avoid this, but we prefer to do it rather than maintain a result that the evidence no longer supports: at tellmeGen, quality and rigor come before quantity.

Additionally, we offer you complementary content on our blog and social media, with a clear and didactic focus, so that you better understand genetics and how it relates to your health and well-being. And we continue to improve the platform to make it more intuitive and so you can easily find the information you need.
