Order your genetic test by clicking on ‘buy’

Once you click on the ‘BUY’ button you will access a simple form where we will ask you for the information we need to send the kit to your home, office or any other place you indicate, in the fastest and most effective way possible.

When you receive the kit, register it online

Once you receive your DNA kit, the first thing you should do is create your user account. To do this, scan the QR code you'll find in the instruction booklet or go to www.tellmegen.com/welcome. Next, you will access a website with 3 steps to follow (collecting the sample, registering the kit, and preparing the shipment). Mark which product you have received: Tube and swabs, Tube and funnel, or Swab and drying bag. To register* the kit, you will need to enter several details, including the registration code found on the instruction leaflet. After completing the 3 steps of the process, you will receive an email with a link to download the label you will need to send your sample to the laboratory.

*Samples received without being registered will not be analyzed.

Deposit your saliva sample

It is very important to complete this step correctly because it is the key for your sample to be analyzed with guarantees. To do this, insert the tip of the swabs into your mouth and rub the inner cheeks with them to obtain the greatest amount of genetic material possible. Remember that you should not smoke, drink (not even water), or chew gum for one hour before depositing the sample. Tube and swabs: when you deposit the swabs, make sure the liquid correctly covers and soaks the ends with saliva, to protect the DNA. Swabs and drying bag: store the swab in the drying bag. First insert the white head without touching any surface so that it remains in the drying area. In both kits, keep the product at normal temperatures (15-30 ºC/59-86 °F) and conditions to guarantee the integrity of the sample. Although it may seem incredible, in such a small sample is all your genetic information!

Genetic Collection Kit with Funnel and Tube

We also have a genetic kit with a funnel and tube to collect saliva without using swabs. For this product, spit into the funnel until the liquid level in the tube, excluding bubbles, reaches the second black line. Keep the tube upright so that the saliva flows correctly. Unscrew the collection funnel and replace it with the tube cap, ensuring it is firmly closed. You can discard the funnel; it will not be used again. Check that the tube is tightly sealed to avoid issues during sample transportation. Shake the collection tube several times to mix the saliva with the preservative solution. Once finished, store the tube containing the saliva sample in the designated slot within the transparent plastic blister.

Shipping to the lab - we pay for it!

Once you have registered your kit and collected your saliva sample, it’s time to send the sample back to us for analysis in the lab. Tube and swabs or funnel: print the label we sent by email after registration and stick it on the outside of the plastic bag in your kit. Place the tube(s) with the saliva sample(s) in the box, and then put the box inside the bag. Swab and drying bag: once you have sealed the drying bag with the barcode, there are two options. If you have a cardboard envelope, place the drying bag inside and then put the new cardboard envelope inside the transparent bag, with the shipping label inside so the code is visible from the outside, to send as a letter. If you have a box, place the drying bag inside, put the box in the shipping bag, and stick the label on the outside for return. Once your package is prepared, take it to the courier office indicated in the email.

Receive the results and find out what your DNA says about you

From the moment we receive your sample in our laboratory, the average time for result delivery is 4 to 6 weeks. Once we have your results, we will contact you to inform you that you can access them through your user account in the client area of our website. Your report is available in ‘.pdf’ format so that you can download, print, or carry it with you on a USB drive. Remember that before opening it, you will have the opportunity to decide if there is any information you prefer not to see reflected in it.
