COPD treatment (Combined corticosteroid + B2 agonist treatment)
Inhaled fluticasone propionate (FP) is a topical nasal corticoid. The body produces corticosteroids, hormones that carry out very important diverse functions.
Fluticasone has a potent anti-inflammatory power. On occasion, because of distinct stimuli, some cells in the body free up substances that provoke inflammation. Corticoids, by reducing the liberation of these substances when faced with allergic or immune responses, also reduce the inflammation as well as the mucus secretion.
Fluticasone is useful in allergy treatment. Its principal uses are nasal polyp treatment and its prevention after polypectomy, and seasonal allergic rhinitis. Allergic rhinitis, the inflammation of the nasal mucus, presents symptoms such as nasal itching, sneezing, mucus and nasal congestion. It is almost always accompanied by conjunctivitis and very frequently influences in the development of bronchial asthma.
